David Walz began his federal career in 2010 as an intern in the Department of Navy Acquisition Development Program. After completing the DAWIA requirements, David became Contract Specialist with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport. His contracts experience included both cost type and firm fixed price contracts, service contracts through the SeaPort Multiple Award Contract vehicle, supply type contracts, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III, Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase II, and was on a team that negotiated and awarded delivery/task orders against the largest IDIQ contract on NUWC Keyport. In 2017, David became the Deputy for Small Business Program at NUWC Keyport, serving as the Division advocate for small business and small disadvantaged business, and providing oversight and management of the Division Small Business Program.

Prior to working with in the Acquisition workforce with the Department of Navy, David served 21 years in the United States Air Force.
