Speaker Bio
Ken is an experienced program and project manager with over 30 years in government procurement, having worked as both a government representative and a defense contractor. Born in Maine, with a degree in government from Suffolk University in Boston, he has lived and worked in many locations worldwide, and brings a wide range of experiences to the Maine PTAC program. As the son of a small businessman, Ken understands the pressures and benefits of running your own business.
He started in defense as a contractor in the greater Boston area, working a range of programs for DoD and other government agencies both within and outside of the United States. In the late 1980s, he led a technical team to Brussels, Belgium, and stayed as a NATO civilian through the tumultuous days marking the end of the Soviet Union and the first Gulf war. Returning to the States, Ken ran overseas programs for a Boston area systems engineering firm and later built data centers across the country for GTE. Before coming to PTAC, he served as the government contracts administrator and export manager for a Maine PTAC client.
In Maine, he manages a statewide PTAC program with a staff of Counselors that support every aspect of government contracting. He enjoys sharing his real-world background in small business and government acquisition with clients across the state.
He currently serves as President-Elect of the national Association of PTACs (APTAC). He also serves on the APTAC Financial, Stakeholder, and By-Laws Committees.

He lives in the greater Bangor, ME, area and enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and kayaking.
